Rachel is Labour’s candidate to be the MP for Cities of London and Westminster, one of Labour’s target seats for the General Election in 2024. Rachel was first elected to represent Londoners in 2014. She became Deputy Mayor in Tower Hamlets in 2018 where she led programmes of housing delivery, climate action and public health initiatives to encourage vaccine take up and reduce isolation during the pandemic.

Before being elected, Rachel worked in Local, Regional and National Government, as a policy advisor in Gordon Brown’s Treasury, delivering new homes and economic development, supporting homeless households across London and at the City of London Corporation delivering small business support, employment and skills programmes.
