Ria helps to manage an award-winning social team, using editorial judgement to adapt The Economist’s journalism for a variety of formats across multiple digital platforms. With a background in visual journalism, she promotes engaging storytelling and innovation across social. Ria has overseen substantial audience growth on Instagram and has ensured it drives new subscribers to The Economist. As well as writing, editing and commissioning content she coordinates digital projects across teams. Ria is passionate about cultivating a younger “globally curious” audience and helping The Economist to evolve beyond the legacy media framework.
